I just saw this and I don't know if this is going to get to you through this forum but I hope it does. The Prophet Muhammad pbuh (peace be upon him) married Aisha and consummated the marriage when she reached puberty which is actually estimated at 12 according to most "Hassan Hadiths" which are considered the most accurate for recorded Islamic history at that time. During the era of that time it was very normal for woman to get married at such a young age and sometimes the male being much older. Now if your going to attack the Prophet pbuh for his actions and assuming your a Christian understand this… The holiest of women The Virgin Mary pbuh was 12 years of age when she was pregnant with our beloved Prophet Jesus pbuh so are you saying god as well is a pedophile. In the future research prior to posting things like this a little more thoroughly before you decide to offender a religion of over 1 billion people. The sad thing is by seeing the way you spelled prophet as profit which is the total wrong context I cant expect you to research things properly. So you dared one person to defend this man is of the greatest of gods creations and I did and others might tip toe around you because of your accomplishments in the world of bjj but I wont ….. Fuck what you have done in Jiu Jitsu and fuck you.

Maybe people just need to start being people and not Christians, Jews, Muslims, Catholics, Mormon etc. Maybe the world would be a better place. Just because something was okay to do 100 or 1000 or 5000 years ago doesn't mean it will always be okay or right. e.g. – slavery.

Pretty disgusting. Mohammed is a pretty sick character when reading about his disgusting life. Not only did he completely promote paedophilia but he would want his followers to kill anybody who disagrees with him as well as Sharia Law. As for the guy who is trying to defend Mohhamed, how about you defend all other pedophiles in the process. I don't care that it was normal at one time. It's still a disturbing concept.

I think Glover needs to be educated – making such rash, irresponsible and prejudice claims. He didn't make that poster – but found it..got pumped on the wonderfully balanced US media hype..and posted. I suggest you think very carefully when posting such a pack of lies Mr Glover. Someone might make a poster about your Mama's integrity and a foolish person might spread it around.

One must first understand that 1400 years ago was very different than now, times have changed and so have humans. 1400 years ago it was something very common to marry young girls, in fact they were not considered young girls, and rather they were considered young women back then. It is a historic fact that girls from the ages of 9 to 14 were being married in Europe, Asia, and Africa, in fact even in the United States girls at the age of 10 were also being married just more than a century ago.

Yet with these facts no historian claims that all these people were sick perverts, historians would call anyone who made such a claim to be arrogant and very stupid who has no grasp or understanding of history.

Even in Indo-Pak Sub-Continent girls used to be married at 12-13 even 50-60 years ago. And those ‘girls’ infact raised much better families. There were less family problems then. A simple analyses of the divorce rate then and know would certainly make it clear that maturity level earlier used to be different i.e. people used to come of age rather quickly.

Martial Arts training without instilling in people of good character, respect for others and morals is a recipe that spells disaster. When instructors denigrate other people's faith and have no shame in doing so, that instructor regardless of his talents and accolades gets no respect from me. Until they fire Jeff Glover or he humbly apologizes and retracts his anti-Muslim sentiments, I will let all my friends know never to train with this guy or the gym he is associated with.

First and foremost, the references are incorrectly interpreted. In Islam, in order to properly understand a quote or verse from the Quran (if you do not know what that is, it is the Holy book of Muslim believers), you must read the verse, the lines before and after, and another book comprised of the sayings and actions of the prophet in conjunction with the Quran. Therefore, DO NOT interpret statements, post comments and insult people the way you want without doing adequate research.

Secondly, Aisha was not 6 years of age and she already had puberty. In addition, during ancient times, individuals at an early age were considered adultlike. Thirdly, although she was the Prophet Mohammed's (pbuh) wife at a young age, she was treated more like a daughter. The reason he married her was for her intelligence so she may preserve the teachings, sayings and actions of the Prophet- pbuh- after he passed away. Moreover, in that hadith, he was talking about washing herself after menstruation not to "fondle" her. Also, translation will always be taken out of context, different languages do not always consist of the same words. The definition of marriage in Islam is perceived differently than that of the Western belief.

Additionally, nowhere in the Quran does it allow for rape to anybody, adults and children. After all, it is forbidden to even have premarital intercourse, so I do not understand how anyone can comprehend the Quran that way. However, yes, Islam does allow marriage and divorce after puberty just as every religion allows it.

Please, before you state false accusations, do accurate research, and in regards to a religion, go directly to the people who practice their beliefs.

Actually, there was no man as peaceful as Prophet Mohammed- pbuh- for he is even honored by the United States' by being on the Supreme Court wall for being one of the greatest lawgivers of the world. Also, Prophet Mohammed-pbuh- did not promote pedophilia nor did he teach his followers to kill people. Actually, in Islam, murder is forbidden for all humans. Even during war, the law of Islam forbids killing of men, women, children, and even the land of the people. During war, only soldiers can be killed. Nevertheless, DO NOT state false lines claiming it is law because YOU ARE WRONG!!!!

If he cannot do this, there is no point in telling others why their metanarrative of reality is invalid. Jeff why should we all be atheists like you??? Thanks in advance.

Mary virgin wasn't forced for any body.

Captured women and raped them. Kept women as sex slaves. Muhammad had sex with 61 women: many he raped. There is no consensual sex between a child girl and a man. There is no consensual sex between a master and his sex slave. There is no consensual sex between a woman conquered in war and her husband conqueror. All such sexual acts are rape. RAPE IS RAPE.
Had eleven wives at one time. Sexually abused his wives. Raped his wives. Forced sex during their menstruation including Baby Aisha. Mentally abused his wives. Can you imagine taking a child (or any aged woman) and molesting with your hand/fist her menstruating vagina?

like using the Koran, or history books. Every time anyone says anything that criticizes Islam everyone suddenly gets upset. Nobody cares when Christians are being raped and murdered… that's ok. WTF!!! If you sit down and read the Koran you will find some good things to learn and many many horrible things. Yes there will be people to explain that this doesn't really mean this or that.. ok its there religion they have been studying it for a long time.. but history doesn't lie. Mohamed was a war monger, who raped, murder, and concurred a significant population. If he lived in our time we would all rank him up there with Hitler.. but because we have a large (and growing) population of Muslims who can't handle any criticism of Mohamed we tend to pretend its ok to not be honest.

Let's leave the Aisha thing aside for a second Anthony. Instead, let's talk about how Mohammad lined up the 600-900 Jewish men and boys of the Banu Qurayza and systematically beheaded them. Let's talk about how he took their women as sex slaves…

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banu_qurayza

And for the record, there is not a single hadith contradicting this account (which of, of course, is found in the hadith).

Aaron Hail Mary Daniels """science""" isn't a worldview – Science can't prove itself to be true, its simply an effective process that one uses to investigate a material reality that gives reliable knowledge about the properties of material objects – Even with the aid of human intelligent agency, a materialistic origin of life hasn't come close to being demonstrated in any laboratory setting — So drug X has been shown in vitro/vivo to destroy cancer cells, therefore, atheistic naturalism is true? LOL – since the majority of scientists believe in God, likely a God believing scientist is the one that created that cancer treating drug in question. Oops.

Dino Velvet the majority do? does the man's faith mean it helped find the cure or the science behind the cure – the science did. You say science can't prove itself to be true, that doesn't make any sense within itself. Science is proven true on a trial and error process, some christians believe the world is still flat and that humans walked amongst dinosaurs – lol, that has been proven by science to be false. Also, creationists…yes a virgin gave birth in one of the most uneducated times of modern history and the most influrential "man" of all time was born. Why would an educated person believe that a man built a ship with two of every species to survive a flood, why would God put his son into a time period that isn't of the highest education and not able to be physically seen by all?

I assume you believe in god – I hope he answers all your prayers and that you don't ever need something like science to assist you.

Aaron Hail Mary Daniels Yes – the majority do, this has been empirically established, don't you know this? You seem to be a man of science so I am surprised that you are unaware that the majority of scientists are theists and/or believe in the existence of a higher power/universal spirit. Materialists/atheists/pagans also believed the earth was flat, theists were not alone in this regard..

I don't think you understand – simply because a God-believing scientist synthesizes a drug that destroys cancer cells it does not follow that because this particular drug is effective at killing cancer cells via some biochemical process, it does not follow from this that God does not exist….LOL…Is that your argument Aaron? """this drug kills a cancer cell, so God does not exist""" — come on man that is a terrible argument.

I may have used an improper term, but the point I was stating is the reason he married her was for intellectual purposes that benefited Islam throughout history, so that she may preserve the statements and actions of the prophet -pbuh; she was an intelligent person. Additionally, I did not say he "considered her his daughter," I stated "treated her more like a daughter" meaning in the the utmost respectful manner; there is a difference between the words which changes the context.

It does matter when any group being targeted is offended! Yes, he has freedom of speech, but it becomes a problem when a person is exposing their fans and followers to a false claim. It is then when people assume his post to be true. Consequently, it will become a stereotype which will then reinforce racist ideologies. It does matter!!
