On October 20th Black Belt CBD will be holding their inaugural Black Belt CBD Invitational event in Las Vegas, Nevada, which will include former UFC champions and current jiu-jitsu superstars. According to the company’s Facebook page, “female fighters are usually paid a fraction of the purse that men take home”. This event aims to create a level the playing field for men and women by offering a $30,000 purse for both men’s and women’s divisions.
The event will be headlined by a superfight between former UFC light heavyweight champion and UFC Hall of Famer Forrest Griffin and former UFC heavyweight champion and current Bellator heavyweight fighter Frank Mir. Other notable fighters on the card are Rodolfo Vieira, Mahamed Aly, Kit Dale, Ana Vieira, Bia Mesquita, and Gilbert Burns.
