John Danaher student Robert Degle is now a BJJ black belt after being promoted by Renzo Gracie black belt Brandon Bennett yesterday.

Degle, who’s picked up wins at events like F2W and GrappleFest 8, among numerous IBJJF events, is perhaps best known for his dominance at Grappling Industries, where he is currently ranked number one in the advanced no-gi male adult category and number two in the overall adult no-gi category. In fact, Degle defeated the UFC’s own Sean O’Malley at a GI competition just last year.
Degle is also known for his skills as an instructor and has shared his knowledge for free on YouTube for quite some time. Earlier this year, he hosted a virtual seminar to help a jiu-jitsu academy in Indonesia that was struggling due to a surge in COVID-19 cases in the country.
