This Is Why The Difference Between White & Blue Belt Feels So Huge

Getting your blue belt can feel (at the time) like one of your greatest life achievements. There’s a lot of work and knowledge that comes between not knowing anything and knowing, well, something. But in reality, there’s only about a year or two that happens between those belts, so why does it feel like such a gigantic gap? Especially when you consider how much smaller the gap feels between the other belt levels?

In this video, Nick Albin (a.k.a. “Chewy” of Chewjitsu) explores this question and gives his theory for why being a white belt feels so much different than being a blue belt… and if the difference between brown to black belt also feels the same. Check out what he says and see if you agree!
