Craig Jones Out, Oliver Taza In At WNO Championship

In yet another shakeup for the highly anticipated Who’s Number One Championship, B-Team leader Craig Jones has withdrawn from the tournament due to injury and will be replaced by Oliver Taza.

Jones and FloGrappling made the announcement on social media yesterday.

This is the second big change made to the power-packed 185-lb division. Days ago, it was announced that Andrew Wiltse had also withdrawn, with Gracie Barra standout Pedro Marinho stepping in to take his place. The 155-lb division has also had two changes: Gabriel Sousa was swapped in for Kennedy Maciel, and Damien Anderson took the place of Ethan Crelinsten.

Though fans will undoubtedly be disappointed by the withdrawal of Jones, Taza is a great addition to the division. His involvement also sets up the opportunity for rematches — he faced fellow 185-lb competitor Tye Ruotolo in the quarterfinals of 3CG: Kumite V and, more recently, took on Mica Galvao at a WNO event earlier this year.

The WNO Championship will take place on September 25-26 and can be streamed live on FloGrappling.
