Five Grappling Women’s Cup To Put Spotlight On Female BJJ Competitors Of All Ages

Even as we approach 2020, it’s hardly uncommon to see jiu-jitsu events that exclusively feature matches between male competitors — perhaps with a token match between two female competitors. Next month, though, Five Grappling will be offering women and girls the chance to shine in the Five Grappling Women’s Cup 2020.

The tournament is open to female competitors of all levels in jiu-jitsu, and a couple of days ago, the promotion announced that it would also be opening up slots not just for adults, but also teens and girls ages four and above. The event will also have a Masters division (for ages 30-39) and a Seniors division (for women ages 40+).

Since registration opened up in October, the event seems to be particularly popular among the Master and Senior divisions. Multiple black belts over the age of 40 are signed up, indicating that this could be a great opportunity for older female grapplers to test themselves in a competitive environment.

The Five Grappling Women’s Cup 2020 will take place on January 12, 2020 at New Breed Academy in Santa Fe Springs, CA. Registration is $49 for one division, with admittance to the absolute divisions costing $15. If you’ll be in the area, take the opportunity to be a part of an event that showcases BJJ talent from women of all ages.
