World Champion Aaron Johnson on the Sport of Grappling and the Future of BJJ


Aaron Johnson has a grappling resume that would put most to shame. He has trained as part of Team Foxcatcher at the famous Foxcatcher training center, he has won the

Army Combatives Championship, he has won an IBJJF World Championship as a brown belt, and he has even placed third as a walk-on for USA Wrestling’s Greco Roman team.

Most recently, Aaron won a spot on Team USA’s Grappling team. As a team member, he will be traveling to Minsk, Belarus in October for a shot at yet another world championship.

We were lucky enough to sit down with him this week to see what it is that got him to 13237802_10207571451897970_3735862797254568326_nthis spot as well as what his plans are for the future. He gave us some insight into the work-ethic and drive needed to become one of the best grapplers in his division. From his grueling training schedule to his time in the National Guard, Aaron is one of the toughest competitors to step on the mat.
