Adriano Moraes Knocks Out Demetrious Johnson In Round 2 Of ONE Championship Fight

Adriano Moraes delivered a huge upset and became the first fighter to ever finish Demetrious Johnson during their fight at ONE Championship tonight.

Moraes, the reigning flyweight champion for the promotion, was still the underdog against Johnson going into their fight. But he proved his worthiness of the title when in round two, he landed a big uppercut that sent Johnson down to the mats. Though Johnson did his best to defend from his position, Moraes landed a big knee to his opponent’s face (which is legal under the ONE ruleset), knocking him out and finishing the fight early.

Moraes’ unforgettable victory marks the first title defense in his third title reign, which began in January 2019  when he defeated Geje Eustaquio in a rematch; Eustaquio had previously been the one to take the flyweight title from Moraes during the latter’s second championship reign.
