A beloved member of the jiu-jitsu community was killed in Thursday’s shooting at the Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks, CA.
Sean Adler was a bouncer at the bar where a shooter killed twelve people before killing himself. Adler was a white belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and trained at Gracie Barra Simi Valley. He was also a strength coach at Royal High School and the owner of a new coffee micro-roastery called Rivalry Roasters.
GB Simi Valley instructor Andre Almeida shared a post on Friday in memoriam of his student.
“I feel speechless with yesterdays tragedy in Thousand Oaks. We lost a incredible individual, always positive and happy, every time you would walk inside the school you used to fill the room with your joy, may you Rest In Peace my friend!”
