Black Belt Holds Christmas Drive For Needy Children, Says BJJ Is About ‘Being Good Humans To Each Other’

Steve Roberto is more than just a third-degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu — he’s one heck of a kind-hearted human being!

Roberto — who teaches at Purebred Academy in Agana Heights, Guam — was determined to make sure every kid was able to have a Merry Christmas this year. So he and his academy got together with Sanctuary Incorporated of Guam and collected gifts and gift certificates for needy children.

“One of the parents is friends with the administrator at Sanctuary, and there’s some kids that needed our help that probably weren’t going to get anything for Christmas this year,” he told Kuam News.

Roberto also shared his philosophy on Brazilian jiu-jitsu:

Jiu-jitsu is not so much about martial arts and stuff but being good human beings and being good humans to each other.

Steve Roberto helped 20 kids get the gifts they needed for Christmas.
