Glenn Robinson, who founded the Blackzilians MMA team, passed away suddenly on Wednesday. His death was reported by MMA Junkie, who confirmed the news with his former PR agent and former Blackzilians photographer. The cause of death was suspected to be a heart attack.

After some MMA athletes started leaving American Top Team (ATT), Robinson formed the Blackzilians in 2011, which grew to be the “supercamp” of MMA stars like Anthony Johnson and Rashad Evans. He also started the apparel company Jaco and founded Authentic Sports Management.

ATT and the Blackzilians’ rivalry was put to the test on the 21st season of The Ultimate Fighter, when Robinson and his team went up against Dan Lambert and ATT. In the finale, the Blackzilians’ Kamaru Usman defeated ATT’s Hayder Hassan.

After multiple controversies involving the departure of some of the Blackzilians’ top fighters, rumors, and lawsuits, Robinson made an effort to rebrand the team and reduce his role in the MMA scene.

The Jiu-Jitsu Times expresses our condolences to Robinson’s loved ones.
