Tonon vs Buchecha When?
Multiple time IBJJF and ADCC champion Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida has signed a multi year deal with MMA promotion ONE Championship. The black belt will compete at heavyweight, according to Buchecha’s manager Ali Abdelaziz in a statement to ESPN earlier today.
In that same statement, Abdelaziz claimed that Buchecha, 30, would fight either late this year or early next, and will conduct training camps at Evolve MMA in Singapore.
As one of the most dominant submission grapplers in history, Buchecha’s eventual journey to the Octagon has been widely anticipated by combat sports fans for years. With UFC-caliber talent like Demetrious Johnson and Eddie Alvarez, We’ll get to see how Buchecha fairs against the kings of a different sport.
