Cat Clarke’s Freedom Roll Grappling Event Will Put Money Right Into The Hands Of Canada’s Heroic Troops

Cat Clarke — the same man who put on the hit grappling event, Chokes by the Ocean — will be hosting a special event in honor of a very special group.

Freedom Roll will be going down this November 11, Canada Remembrance Day, from the Best Western Truro Glengarry in Nova Scotia, Canada — and it will all be held in honor Canada’s troops.

And when we say “in honor” we don’t mean Canada’s heroes will get some cheap parade or boring speech. We mean that 25 percent of the proceeds from the event will be going directly to the Canadian veterans. That means, directly into their hands! Not to a charity. Not to some cold bureaucracy run by Ottawa’s fat cats. Right into the hands of the veterans!

Cat has a special reason for wanting to support the troops, too. He suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) himself.

“Veterans and the people who protect and serve our country are the daily heroes,” he told the Jiu-Jitsu Times. “We all can complain about life, but the majority of us do not have the worry or thought, that someday we may be in a REAL LIFE war or battle. These are things I don’t take lightly as a person who suffers from PSTD in my own life due to a car accident and a lightning strike. I have nothing but love and respect for anyone who chooses to put themselves out there and protect something as sacred as our country and people. Submission Series PRO salutes you.”

Freedom Roll will feature an 8-man and 8-woman bracket.

A $1000 cash prize will be awarded in each bracket.

To make a great event even better, Clarke will also include three matches in between:

Matt Rehill (Titans Jiu Jitsu Academy Nova Scotia) VS Jeremy Misken (North South Jiu Jitsu, New Brunswick)

Justus Copeland (North South, New Brunswick) VS Joshua S. McCormick (Boa Jiu Jitsu Club, Montreal)

Patrick Beaudoin (Boa Jiu Jitsu Club, Montreal) VS Josh Presley (Renzo Gracie, HFX)

All matches will be ten minutes, and all of them will be submission only.
