Chris Weidman Kicks Uriah Hall, Snaps His Own Leg Seconds Into UFC 261 Fight

The middleweight fight between Chris Weidman and Uriah Hall at UFC 261 was over in mere seconds after Weidman broke his own leg delivering his first kick of the fight.

The horrific injury occurred in the opening moments of the fight as Hall checked a leg kick from Weidman. Immediately after making contact with Hall’s shin, Weidman’s lower right leg wobbled, and the fighter collapsed on the canvas in agony immediately after putting his foot down.

In a social media post, Dana White declared that Hall had become the first fighter in the promotion’s history to win without throwing a strike.

The video of the incident can be seen below. Be warned that it is GRAPHIC.

Weidman was taken out of the cage on a stretcher.

In a bizarre twist, Weidman has been in this situation before, though last time, it was his opponent who suffered a devastating break — at UFC 168, Weidman checked a leg kick from Anderson Silva in the second round of their fight. Silva’s ankle snapped, and Weidman was declared the winner.
