Former WWE Champion CM Punk was the subject of a lot of controversy years ago when, despite having no previous combat sports experience, he was added to the roster of the biggest MMA promotion in the world, the UFC.

After years of hype, Brooks finally stepped in the octagon at UFC 203, where he took on Mickey Gall. Punk’s inexperience showed, and he was demolished by Gall in the first round.

The former pro wrestling champion is still determined to prove he can hang with the world’s toughest fighters, though, and he will be making his return to the octagon in two months when he takes on Mike “The Truth” Jackson at UFC 225 on June 9.

The similarities between the two are eerie. Both fighters have only one previous fight in the UFC: a first round loss to Mickey Gall via rear naked choke.

Let’s hope both Punk and Jackson have been working on their grappling since then.
