Results: Craig Jones Takes Grapplefest Win By Reverse Triangle Over Adam Wardzinski

Craig Jones and Adam Wardzinski went head to head at Grapplefest’s seventh installment over in Liverpool, each vying for the 100kg championship. And Jones came out on top, quickly.

A proposed battle of the bases, the fight immediately started with guard pulls. About a minute into the match Wardzinski landed in a reverse triangle, trapped as Jones’ leopard print booty shots announced “#fuckcraigjones” to the room full of spectators. After a brief attempt to escape, Wardzinski was forced to tap.

Jones and Wardzinski have both had major wins this year, Jones making the podium at ADCC and Wardzinski taking gold at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam. This was their first time facing each other.

Joining Jones in the winner’s circle was young gun Pans champion Dante Leon, who bested Marcos Tinoco for the 85kg title after Tinoco’s defeat of him in last years Chicago Spring Open. Even younger guns–and twins–Tye and Kade Ruotolo, age 16, were there as well, the former winning by unanimous decision and the latter by darce choke.
