Submission Series Promotions is putting on another pay-per-view event, and it looks like it will be stellar. Diego Sanchez, the longtime UFC fighter, will take on Mike Wacker in the main event. This is a trend that many promotions have found success with. Chael Sonnen’s promotion, Submission Underground, has always booked high profile MMA fighters to compete in his shows. Fight to Win Pro also does this from time to time. It seems like a winning formula. You get an MMA fighter, or two, with some name value and you match them up with pure grappling competitors. This crossover brings MMA fans to the world of grappling.

Oliver Taza is also on the card. He will be competing against Matt Kwan. Taza has competed at a Submission Series Promotions event before, and he was absolutely electric. Taza also won the European trials for the ADCC world grappling championship recently. Seeing him compete this summer will be a treat. Chad George is another notable name. He became popular as an MMA fighter and now he competes pretty regularly in high profile grappling shows. We recently saw him compete in EBI 11: Combat Jiu Jitsu, where he repeatedly made use of the open palm strike rule. He will be facing off against Ethan Crelinsten.
It looks like this show will be another home run for promoter Cat Clarke. He has always put on extremely entertaining shows, and this one should be no different. Make sure you tune in on July 29th to catch all of the action.
