EBI 12 Champion Erin Blanchfield To Make UFC Debut On April 10

EBI 12 champ Erin Blanchfield is making the big step up to the UFC in just over a week.

ESPN was the first to report the news.

The 21-year-old fighter is set to take on Norma Dumont on April 10, jumping in as a late replacement for Bea Malecki, who had to withdraw from the fight.

Blanchfield won the EBI championship when she was just an eighteen-year-old purple belt, going on to make her MMA debut just a few months later. She later signed with Invicta and currently has a 6-1 professional record, with her only loss being a split decision in favor of Tracy Cortez. Her most recent fight saw her take home a win against Brogan Walker-Sanchez last July, and she was scheduled to fight Pearl Gonzalez for the vacant Invicta flyweight title before Gonzalez had to withdraw due to a COVID-19 diagnosis.

This will be Dumont’s third fight for the UFC. The 5-1 fighter bounced back from a KO loss against Megan Anderson in February 2020 to come away with the judges’ decision victory against Ashlee Evans-Smith in November.
