ADCC champ Ffion Davies has officially earned the first degree on her black belt, at the hands of none other than fellow ADCC legend JT Torres, according to an announcement on her official Instagram account.
“I can’t express how grateful I am to [JT Torres] and to everyone at [Essential BJJ] for giving me the opportunity to teach and train here,” wrote Davies in the caption.
“It’s not an exaggeration to say this is a dream come true, and not only that but it’s not even something I could have envisioned as a baby blue belt. There were barely any other women on the mat, let alone leading a class. To get to teach and lead mixed classes is wild to me still, but I’m fortunate that it’s not to the students here and that’s thanks to JT and his support.”
