The UFC has a choice. And they chose the right answer.
Edgar is now set to replace former opponent Brian “T-City” Ortega in the UFC Busan main event against mma legend Chan Sung Jung. Ortega announced yesterday via Twitter that an ACL tear had forced him to step down from the fight. Luckily Frankie Edgar is an absolute savage and stepped up to the plate to save the card.
Ironically, this new bout is one that was previously on the books. The two were set to fight last November before Edgar had to withdraw due to injury. a win could help set either one up for a big tear. Edgar actually holds a TKO win over Rodriguez from 2017.
The event is still set for December 21.
