Rickson Gracie did a seminar on Tuesday in Australia, giving folks down under in Melbourne a chance to learn under one of the most famous names in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Interestingly, Rickson did it in his old red and black coral belt, not his red belt.
Why would Rickson do a seminar while wearing a belt that is two ranks lower than the one he was recently awarded?

This isn’t the first time Rickson’s red belt has brought up questions. Indeed, many in the jiu-jitsu community wondered why he had the privilege of skipping the red and white coral belt and going straight to BJJ’s highest rank, the red belt.
Did Rickson demote himself? Did he leave his belt behind? Or did he, for whatever reason, just not feel like wearing it?
