A man from Jacksonville, Florida, has been accused of kicking swans in order to practice his karate.
Numerous people claim they saw Joseph Mantella, 34, kicking swans at a park in Orlando.
Witnesses said the kicks were “strong enough to knock the swans over,” according to the Tampa Bay Times. One witness said he kicked a swan in the backside “as hard as possible” and even kicked a sleeping baby duck.
Mantella apparently had little remorse for his behavior, too. According to an arrest report, the 34-year-old laughed when he saw the witness’s reaction to the animal cruelty.
Police arrested Mantella and are now holding him on $1,000 bail. Officers were unable to find any of the injured animals.
Someone should practice some chokes, joint locks and heel hooks on him! Sicko!
