Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon “Bones” Jones probably won’t be in the MMA cage anytime soon, but that doesn’t mean he has to avoid professional combat sports.

Bones tweeted earlier that he is interested in competing in another Submission Underground grappling event:

He’s already got a challenger, too: Ocean County Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu owner Tom DeBlass. Professor DeBlass sent a message to Submission Underground founder Chael Sonnen, asking him for a match against the former UFC champion:

Jon Jones wants to grapple in @sonnench's Grappling event. I would love to compete against @jonnybones ! In my opinion…

In a Facebook thread, Flograppling asked its readers whom they’d like to see Jones face if he were to compete in the next Submission Underground event. Many suggested that he fight Gordon Ryan, who received his black belt under Garry Tonon, one of DeBlass’s students. Names such as “Luke Rockhold,” “Josh Barnett,” and “Craig Jones” also popped up. DeBlass’s name also appeared a couple of times.

Others were unwilling to forgive Jon Jones for his past transgressions. “His own conscience,” one commentator said when asked whom Jones should fight next. “have people really forgiven this scumbag for his hit and run on the pregnant woman?”

Jon Jones fought in the second Submission Underground event, which took place back in 2016. He defeated another UFC alumnus, Dan Henderson, via arm triangle.

Who would you like to see Jon Jones face in Submission Underground?
