Kennedy Maciel To Face Junny Ocasio At F2W 156

The Fight 2 Win team will be moving right along after hosting Subversiv 4 last weekend, hosting F2W 156 this Friday evening.

Undefeated F2W athlete and current black belt no-gi bantamweight champion Junny Ocasio will be going head-to-head against 2018 no-gi world champion Kennedy Maciel in the main event. While this match won’t be for the title, as it will take place in the 145lb division, it will be a can’t-miss battle for anyone following Ocasio’s career. Ocasio has won all of his matches so far in 2020, finishing his last two via submission, but Maciel is undoubtedly his biggest challenge yet on the F2W stage.

Maciel has followed up his colored-belt career with an impressive black belt record that includes a silver medal at last year’s ADCC and a gold at American Nationals. The young standout has made his own waves on the F2W stage, having most recently defeated Osvaldo “Queixinho” Moizinho back at F2W 151 to become the lightweight gi champion. This match will be a test for both athletes, and a win for either competitor would be significant in their careers.

The co-main event will see fan-favorite and rising star Sam Nagai take on Marcio Andre. Nagai, a brown belt F2W star, has only been a black belt since August, and he’s already proven that he’s worthy of the rank. He made a statement in his black belt F2W debut by defeating Gianni Grippo at F2W 153, and at Pans just last month, he won an upset against Isaac Doederlein before going on to win bronze.

Andre is the more seasoned black belt among the two athletes, with an extensive competitive resume that includes a 2016 win at No-Gi Worlds and three gold medals from Euros. Like Nagai, he is also a seasoned F2W competitor, picking up wins over Benson Henderson, Kennedy Maciel, and Ronaldo Junior so far on the stage. Neither of these grapplers will be underestimating each other on Friday night, and their match is sure to shake the stage.

As always, there will be plenty of matches with local talent leading up to the two biggest battles of the night, so make sure you’re watching when Fight 2 Win 136 streams live on FloGrappling this Friday, November 6 from Philadelphia, PA.
