Leon Vs. Jimenez & Duarte Vs. Vieira Announced For WNO Event In December

Following an action-packed night of grappling at their October Who’s Number One event, FloGrappling has begun to release some of the matches planned for their next WNO on December 11.

In just under a month, we’ll get to see a number of big superfights, and among them will be a match between Dante Leon and Roberto Jimenez. Jimenez, who made his black belt debut in spectacular fashion at WNO by defeating Keenan Cornelius, has been an active competitor throughout 2020 despite the COVID-19 pandemic, finding particular success at the 3CG Kumite events. He’ll be a great matchup for Leon, who has carved out quite the name for himself with big wins at No-Gi Worlds, Pans, American Nationals, and Kasai. Leon is coming off a win against Kody Steele at WNO 4, and he’ll be eager to turn that victory into a winning streak.

Another big match announced for the event will be between Kaynan Duarte and Rodolfo Vieira, both of whom will be making their WNO debuts. Duarte, who won ADCC in the +99kg division last year, has won two of his three matches so far this year. Vieira, an ADCC champion himself and a multiple-time world champion, hasn’t competed yet this year, and making things more interesting is that his last match was against Duarte himself. The two first went head-to-head at last year’s Spyder Invitational, where Duarte defeated Vieira by points. Could we see a repeat performance, or will Vieira win this rematch?

Both of these matches will take place under a sub-only format, each lasting fifteen minutes.

There are more exciting WNO matches to be announced in the coming month, so make sure you mark your calendar so you can watch it all go down!

Who’s Number One will take place on Friday, December 11 and can be streamed live on FloGrappling.
