Marcus Almeida “Buchecha” is the 2017 IBJJF Open Weight Champion.
Buchecha earned his crown after a strong performance against his friend, Leandro Lo. Leandro put up a valiant effort, holding the much bigger Almeida off with his guard. Marcus, however, was able to score a huge double leg takedown that scored him two points.
Marcus was then able to take the match via advantage.
