Former UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway had a big day yesterday. The fighter announced his engagement to pro surfer Alessa Quizon, and he is booked in for his next big fight.
Holloway is set to fight Calvin Kattar in the headlining fight of the UFC Fight Night event on January 16. The matchup follows two consecutive losses to Alexander Volkanovski, both via decision. He last fought in July, and the 22-4 Kattar will be a solid opponent for him when he returns.
Still, for Holloway’s personal life, the fight announcement probably paled in comparison to the exciting news that he’s now engaged.

Holloway and Quizon began dating after the latter ended her previous relationship in February. In her own post celebrating the big news, she expressed her excitement about spending the rest of her life with Holloway and Rush, his son from a previous relationship.
In addition to his impressive record as an MMA fighter, Holloway is also a BJJ purple belt.
