MMA Star Benson Henderson Earns 3 Wins At ADCC Arizona Open

Benson Henderson, 39, a veteran of both the UFC and Bellator, earned three victories at the ADCC Arizona Open in the adult 83kg men’s division before taking a loss in the quarterfinals, per Kian Rogers of Jits Magazine. Despite being almost 40, Henderson chose to compete with the young guns in the adult age category — that’s age 35 and under in the ADCC Open ruleset — and took home three victories on points before losing by heel hook to Ernesto Rivera.

Though Henderson didn’t make the podium this time around, that three-victory run in a talent-stacked adult bracket at an ADCC Open was an eye-opening look at the retired MMA star’s submission grappling prowess. His scrap against Anthony Briones even made FloGrappling’s picks for Top 12 Matches to Watch at the ADCC Arizona Open.
