The fight between Nate Diaz and Leon Edwards won’t be happening at UFC 262 after all, but don’t worry — we’ll be seeing the matchup just a month later at UFC 263.

Yahoo! Sports was the first to report that Diaz suffered a minor injury and would be unable to fight on May 15. However, a month should be a sufficient amount of time for Diaz to heal up, and thus, the fight has been rebooked for the June 12 card.

The fight will still be a non-main-event bout consisting of five rounds, and it still won’t be a title fight. But the highly anticipated matchup will be in good company as it joins a card that includes a middleweight title fight between Israel Adesanya and Marvin Vettori, plus a rematch between Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno for the flyweight title.

Edwards hasn’t lost any of his nine most recent fights, though his most recent fight against Belal Muhammad ended with a no-contest after an unfortunate accidental eye poke.

Diaz will be coming back for his first fight since 2019 — his most recent contest was for the “BMF” title against Jorge Masvidal, which ended in a TKO by doctor stoppage after Diaz was too cut up to continue.

UFC 263 will take place on Saturday, June 12.
