Nick Rodriguez Has Been Added To The BJJ Fanatics Sub-Only Grand Prix

The roster for the BJJ Fanatics Sub-Only Grand Prix just got even more hectic.

BJJ Fanatics owner Michael Zenga has informed the Jiu-Jitsu Times that purple belt and ADCC silver medalist Nick Rodriguez will be the latest athlete to be added to the BJJ Fanatics tournament, which was already set to be a highly impressive card.

Rodriguez will be joining a group of contenders that includes Gordon Ryan, Lucas Barbosa, Quentin Rosenzweig, Kyle Boehm, and many other accomplished athletes who will be battling it out to win the $10,000 prize. 2019 ADCC competitor John Combs and CJJ champion Kody Steele will also be among the competitors.

Rodriguez has skyrocketed to grappling fame after first bursting onto the scene with a third-place finish at the ADCC East Coast Trials as a 6-month white belt with a high school and college freshman wrestling background. After qualifying for ADCC at the West Coast Trials, he went on to grapple his way into the finals of the +99kg division at ADCC, ultimately losing only to Kaynan Duarte. Rodriguez was then promoted to purple belt, still with under two years of jiu-jitsu experience.

The BJJ Fanatics Sub-Only Grand Prix will take place this Friday, November 15 in Beverly, MA. You can buy tickets for the event here or watch from home on FloGrappling.
