Nick Rodriguez Is Back In Action On The Fight 2 Win Stage This Weekend

After an exciting first event of the year, Fight 2 Win is back a week later with another action-packed show planned for Sacramento, California.

The main event of the evening will see the return of “Nicky Rod” (a.k.a. Nick Rodriguez) as he looks to win yet another superfight for the promotion, this time against Victor Hugo. This match is sure to bring the house down — Rodriguez is a 2019 ADCC silver medalist who has become a household name despite being “just a purple belt” with about two years of jiu-jitsu training following a modest wrestling background.

Rodriguez has defeated multiple big-name black belts in elite competition and has certainly earned the right to go up against Hugo, but that doesn’t mean he’ll get an easy win out of it. Hugo, who has been a black belt for less than a year, made waves at No-Gi Worlds late last year when he submitted Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu with a kneebar in the finals of the absolute division. Both Hugo and Rodriguez have taken surprising wins over Cyborg, and now, they’ll have to see which one of them will come out on top in a battle of their own.

Before the final fireworks go off, we’ll be treated to many more exciting matches throughout the night, including one between Jake Watson and Ronaldo Junior, and one that will see Elizabeth Mitrovic face off against Talita Nogueira. As always, plenty of local talent will also be gracing the card, and now could be your chance to see up-and-coming athletes as they develop their skills.

Watch the preview for the event below, and make sure you’re watching when F2W 135 starts streaming live on FloGrappling this Saturday, January 18.
