Ontario Police Thumb Noses At Anti-Grappling Law

Toronto police showed up to a grappling event that the province of Ontario said was illegal. However, instead of arresting anyone, officers posed for pictures with the combatants.

Like Montreal — which is home to the world-famous Tristar gym — Ontario lawmakers are trying to extend illegal combat laws to grappling events. Tristar coach Firas Zahabi has spoken out against them.

Ontario lawmakers apparently weren’t too pleased with the officers’ defiance, and threatened illegal combat sports stakeholders in a letter.

However, without the police on their side, they might have a hard time enforcing what many believe to be a ridiculous law. Source combatsportslaw
