Polaris Champ Ash Williams To Face ADCC Veteran Tom Halpin In Polaris Squads 2 Title Match

The big superfight for Polaris Squads 2 has been announced, and we’ll be seeing two of Europe’s best grapplers go head-to-head to see who will take home the 145lb title.

The promotion has announced that Ash Williams will be competing for his third Polaris title, this time against Tom Halpin.

Williams is perhaps one of the UK’s best known jiu-jitsu athletes. He’s most recognized for his wins at Polaris, but also for his numerous IBJJF victories, which include a trip to the top of the podium at Euros in 2016.

Halpin, who hails from Ireland, qualified for ADCC via the European Trials in 2019. He also won two UAEJJF National Pro tournaments in 2018. Both he and Williams both made impressive appearances at Polaris Squads 1 — Halpin, in fact, got the submission that put Team UK & Ireland ahead and ultimately gave them the win over Team Europe.

This title match will be sure to add a spark of extra excitement to an already-action-packed card featuring some of the best jiu-jitsu athletes from all over Europe.

Polaris Squads 2 will take place on Saturday, November 7 and can be streamed live on UFC Fight Pass.
