Q13Fox reported that, according to New York police, a woman’s son choked his mother’s ex-boyfriend to death after witnessing the ex-boyfriend abusing his mother. Police have stated that the man arrived at an apartment on University Avenue in the Bronx early in the morning. The man and the woman then began arguing, and the man began choking the woman.
The woman’s 18-year-old son saw the abuse and sped from his room to the room in which the violence was taking place. The teen then pulled his mother’s ex-boyfriend off and began to choke him. He eventually died. The teen’s mother, then unconscious, eventually woke up to see her son standing over the corpse of her ex-boyfriend.
According to arrest records, this was not the ex-boyfriends first instance of domestic violence. The man had 26 previous arrests, two of which were for domestic violence against the 18-year-old’s mother. Currently, the teen is in police custody, but no charges have been filed at this time. It is unclear if the teen will be charged with any crime related to the man’s death. If he is charged, he will be tried as an adult.
