ACB JJ Puts Up A Stacked 65kg Card This Weekend

Based on the newly updated card for the ACB JJ World Grand Prix 60kg division, fans are certainly in for a treat. The following fighters will be competing at the event, which will take place on July 16 in Moscow:

Augusto “Tanquinho” Mendes

Mendes is not only a renowned fighter, but also one of the most well-respected referees in BJJ. Some of Mendes’ main achievements include a BJJ World Championship win in 2013 and two World No Gi Championship wins in 2012 and 2015. There is no doubt that Mendes will be a wild card in this competition, as he has no favorite technique but is proficient in almost every aspect of the sport.

Osvaldo Augusto Moizinho

Osvaldo Augusto “Queixinho” Moizinho is a Brazilian-born fighter with a great amount of experience under his belt. His accomplishments include IBJJF World No Gi Championship wins in 2016, 2015, and 2014, and an IBJJF Pro League Championship win in 2014. Moizinho will no doubt bring his advanced use of the open guard to the competition.

Kim Terra

Kim Terra, another Brazillian-born fighter, is also bringing his notable experience to the tournament. Terra previously won the BJJ South American Championship in 2012 and was the Brazillian National Champion in 2009, when he was still a brown belt.

Paulo Miyao

Paulo Miyao, twin brother of fighter Joao Miyao, will no doubt be a competitor worth watching closely. Miyao previously won the 2015 IBJJF World Champion and the IBJJF Pan American Champion in 2016. Initially, Miyao also won the 2016 IBJJF World Championship but was stripped of the title after a failed drug test.

Gabriel Marangoni

Brazilian-born fighter Bariel Marangoni, known as one of the best BJJ fighters of his generation, is also bringing his skill to the Grand Prix. Marangoni won the ADCC Brazilian Trials Championship in 2015 as well as the IBJJF Sao Paulo Open Championship in 2013.

Leonardo Vieira

Leonardo “Leozinho” Vieira is not only a skilled fighter, but also one of grappling’s most important coaches. Vieira won the ADCC Championship in both 2003 and 2005 and also won the IBJJF World Championship in 1996 and 1999 at brown belt.

Based on these fighters alone, it is clear that the ACB JJ Grand Prix will be an astounding competition, not just in the 60kg division, but in all divisions. If you cannot make it to Moscow for the tournament, you can catch all of the action live on PPV.
