Surprise — Conor McGregor Announces He’s Un-Retiring

In news that will shock exactly no one, Conor McGregor has teased (again via Twitter) that he’s coming back to fight in the Octagon.

The former UFC champ posted a message to his fans yesterday saying that we would, in fact, be seeing him in the Octagon at some point in the future.

This, of course, contradicts McGregor’s tweet from barely over a week ago that announced his retirement. McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov (who defeated McGregor last October at UFC 229) have recently been verbally sparring on social media, with McGregor calling Nurmagomedov’s wife a “towel” (an Islamophobic term) and Nurmagomedov calling McGregor a “rapist” (likely over the recent news of sexual assault allegations against McGregor).

Whether or not these two will now face each other in a future UFC fight is still to be determined, but with his update, McGregor seems to be wanting to put a stop to their beef and to his own short-lived “retirement.”
