“What you did to me, hurt me, and what you did to me is something I would never possibly forget,” said a victim of Nelson Ivan del Valle-Nazario, a martial arts instructor who has been charged with having sex with a minor less than 12 years old.
The victim was not named.
“My mom put me in martial arts to help me with bullying. My mom was paying you to teach me martial arts and instead you were raping her daughter,” the victim continued. “You used your power to get close to me. You weren’t only my coach, you were a trusted friend and I think that’s why I’ve been in denial for so long”
Nazario stood there handcuffed in the courtroom as the victim spoke.
Police say the Nazario’s crimes happened at his gym — Undisputed Fitness & Martial Arts on Waters Avenue — and at his home between 2015 and 2016.
In January, Nazario was found guilty of four counts of lewd and lascivious conduct, and of sexual battery by an adult against a child less than 12 years old. He was sentenced to 60 years in prison.
