TJ Dillashaw To Make Return Against Cory Sandhagen In May 8 Headliner

After two years away, TJ Dillashaw will be making his UFC return to face Cory Sandhagen in the main event of a May 8 card.

The fighters have verbally agreed to the upcoming bout, as first reported by ESPN. A location for the event is yet to be announced.

Dillashaw’s return comes after a two-year suspension after the former two-time bantamweight champion tested positive for prohibited substances. The sample in question was taken the day before his fight against Henry Cejudo for the flyweight title, which Dillashaw lost via TKO just 32 seconds into the first round.

Prior to his loss against Cejudo, Dillashaw was on a four-fight winning streak that included two finishes against fellow former UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt. He earned his purple belt in BJJ back in January of this year.

Sandhagen is coming off two consecutive wins, both of which saw him finish the fight early. After getting an impressive second-round TKO back in October against Marlon Moraes, he knocked out Frankie Edgar in just 28 seconds with a flying knee at UFC Vegas 18 in February.

TJ Dillashaw vs. Cory Sandhagen will take place on Saturday, May 8.
