The Ruotolo brothers will be making their ONE debut on May 20th, going straight to the wolves as Tye takes on Garry Tonon and Kade faces off against Shinya Aoki in ONE’s Submission Grappling ruleset.
The brothers were recently signed to ONE back in March of 2022, with a foresight to compete in both grappling and MMA.
While Tonon and Aoki are primarily competing as jiu-jitsu specialists in MMA, Tonon is of course a seasoned jiu-jitsu veteran and 5x EBI champion who didn’t transition to MMA until he had already accomplished an illustrious jiu-jitsu career. Likewise, Aoki is a veteran BJJ black belt with an incredible 30 submission wins to his record. He’s trained along some of the sport’s best competitors, including Masakazu Imanari, and is one of the most relentless submission attackers in MMA.
ONE has put in work to lockdown the jiu-jitsu market by signing some of the biggest names in the sport, such as Gordon Ryan, Andre Galvao, Michelle Nicolini, Mikey Musumeci, Buchecha, and more.
These match-ups are sure to produce some epic highlights that keep the grappling community talking for a while.
