Although Nate Diaz and Dustin Poirier claimed that they would be headlining UFC 230, UFC president Dana White has reportedly shut down the claims in a phone conversation with ESPN’s Brett Okamoto.

Okamoto tweeted about his conversation with White, saying that the UFC president says he’s still deciding on a main event for the card.

However, Diaz apparently still insists that the title fight is still on and that he’s a part of it.

Diaz vs. Poirier has already been officially announced as the co-main event for UFC 230. But until and unless White officially confirms the addition of the 165-lb division and the Diaz vs. Poirier main event, it may be best to hold your breath before getting too excited about any updates coming from Diaz or Poirier.

The Jiu-Jitsu Times will continue to provide updates on this story as they become available.
