Vagner Rocha & William Tackett To Face Off This Weekend At F2W 171

After an exciting event at last weekend’s F2W 170 that saw Josh Hinger claim the Master Middleweight title from Rafael “Formiga” Barbosa, F2W 171 is set to bring even more action with a card that features Vagner Rocha vs. William Tackett as the main event.

Tackett, who claimed the 185lb title at Fight 2 Win as a brown belt, was promoted to black belt just last month. The teen has been making a name for himself for years now by defeating many of the elite black belts in the jiu-jitsu world. Indeed, his most recent two F2W appearances saw him defeat John Combs and Manuel Ribamar, with the latter coming by way of heel hook at just over a minute into their match. Tackett also made waves when he dominated the main event of 3CG 5 with a heel hook finish against Fellipe Andrew in under a minute.

Rocha’s last two appearances at F2W have also resulted in victories, as he took home a heel hook win against Gabriel Almeida at F2W 157 and then came back at F2W 164 to pick up a decision win against Yuri Simoes. His most recent competitive endeavor saw him go up against Gordon Ryan in the main event of Who’s Number One.

The co-main event of the evening will feature a match between Amanda “Tubby” Alequin and Gabi McComb. This won’t be the first time the two have faced off for the promotion — they went head to head at F2W 126, which resulted in McComb coming away with the split decision win. Now, the BJJ world will be watching to see if McComb, a multiple-time champion at Pans, can pull off a repeat performance against the 2016 No-Gi World Champion.

In another exciting match on the main card, Tâniel Abu Jesus, who most recently won gold at the Charleston International Open, will go up against F2W bantamweight champion Junny Ocasio.

Make sure you tune in before the main card to see a litany of jiu-jitsu athletes of all ages and levels show off their skills on the big stage. We’re used to seeing some big submissions happen at F2W, and we expect that this weekend’s event in Miami will be no different.

F2W 171 will take place this Saturday, April 24 and can be streamed live on FloGrappling.
