William Tackett Added To Grand Prix Tournament At 3CG 6

Rising grappling star William Tackett is the third competitor to be added to 3rd Coast Grappling‘s upcoming 3CG 6 event, which will feature an eight-man Grand Prix tournament that will give $15,000 to the victor.

Tackett joins ADCC medalists Nicky Rodriguez and Kaynan Duarte in the pursuit of the grand prize.

Tackett is returning after a quick and stellar performance in the main event of 3CG 5, which saw him heel hook black belt Pans champion Fellipe Andrew in under a minute. He most recently defeated ADCC veteran John Combs at F2W 160 via split decision back in January. His upcoming challenge at 3CG 6 will be a marker of his progress both within the promotion and beyond — he won the 3CG Qualifiers as a purple belt and later went on to compete in their Kumite event. Now a brown belt, he’s taken out big names like Tex Johnson, Jason Rau, and Andrew Wiltse on his path to 3CG 6.

There are still five more athletes to be announced for the Grand Prix tournament, and we’ll keep you updated on all the updates.

3CG VI will take place on Saturday, April 3 in Houston, Texas and can be purchased via PPV on FITE TV.
