A mixed martial arts (MMA) instructor in Singapore named Joshua Robinson, 39, has landed himself in jail after he filmed himself sexually assaulting two teenage girls. He has pleaded guilty to nine charges: three for sexually assaulting two 15-year-old girls, five for obscene films, and one for showing a film of an obscene act to a six-year-old girl.
Robinson is an instructor at Transcendence Mixed Martial Arts where, according to his bio, he has trained in Sambo, mixed martial arts, and catch wrestling. Based on a video from his Youtube page, he also holds a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
According to BJJ Eastern Europe, he is originally from Wisconsin.
Joshua Robinson originally met his 15-year-old victim through the social media service MeetMe in early 2015. The mixed martial artist pressured the girl to meet him in person and wear a school girl outfit.
The girl did as she was told, showing up in high school uniform and not wearing any panties. The two met at Clarke Quay MRT station, and Robinson took her back to his apartment. There he filmed himself sexually assaulting her while she was on the phone.
The girl told her parents and the police raided Robinson’s apartment. They found a folder on his computer entitled “Fifteen”, which held 12 films of him sexually assaulting another 15-year-old girl.
Joshua Robinson was released on bail after a month, but that didn’t stop him from performing another obscene act, this time with a girl who was only six years old.
While the girl’s father was training BJJ, Robinson showed her a video of his girlfriend performing a sex act on him. He then instructed the little girl not to tell anyone. However, she told her mother later that day.
Robinson was jailed on Thursday, March 2, 2017. He will serve four years.
Deputy Prosecutor Nicholas Lai said of him:
He should have known better than to have initiated an illicit sexual affair with not one, but two 15-year-old girls who lacked the maturity and understanding that [Robinson] was merely using them to satisfy his sexual desires.
