Following a successful debut in her professional MMA career, elite boxing champion Claressa Shields has secured her next fight opportunity.

Ariel Helwani was the first to report that Shields’ sophomore fight will take place on a PFL card on August 27. An opponent for Shields has not yet been announced.

The card that will host Shields’ next fight will also feature the semifinals for the male heavyweight division and the female lightweight division of the tournament; Shields’ own fights take place outside of the tournament format.

Shields won her MMA debut earlier this month, making a comeback against BJJ brown belt and F2W veteran Brittney Elkin. Though Elkin’s grappling initially helped her dominate the fight, Shields sprawled on a takedown in the third round and rained down strikes until the referee stopped the fight.
