Craig Jones vs Vinny Magalhaes To Headline Submission Underground 13

In a world devoid of grappling, Chael Sonnen continues to deliver.

Seemingly the only major BJJ event active during the COVID-19 pandemic, Submission Underground 13 is set to be headlined by Craig Jones and Vinny Magalhaes on April 26.

In a post from the SUG Instagram page, the event will contain other BJJ vs MMA fighter style match ups and no tag team matches. Notable examples given are Tenth Planet black belt Richie Martinez Gavin Bellator’s Austin Vanderford and former SUG winner Gabriel Checco facing former UFC fighter Jake Ellenberger.

With SUG 12 having been streamed from an empty grain silo and manned by a skeleton crew, one can only hope Sonnen will have more infrastructure in place to compensate for the state of the world. Despite the hurdles, it proved that tournaments can still take place during the outbreak with a fair degree of success.
