Dillon Danis: Renzo’s Guys Are All P*ssies

Dillon Danis might still respect his former coach, Marcelo Garcia, despite the rift between them.

That same respect, however, does not extend to the members of Renzo Gracie’s academy.

Danis was a guest earlier today on The MMA Hour. When asked by host, Ariel Helwani, if he had any plans of training at Renzo Gracie’s Academy, Danis did not mince words:

Nah, fuck those guys. I like Renzo, but fuck those guys in that gym. They’re a bunch of pussies. But Renzo’s a legend. Renzo and [student John] Danaher are good guys, but those other guys are a bunch of pussies.

Danis had some particularly strong words for longtime rival and fellow trash talker, Garry Tonon, who is a member of John Danaher’s notorious Danaher Death Squad. Dillon also used the P-word to describe his foe, and claimed that Garry’s “fight anyone anyway” claim was a lie:

He’s all talk. He fights at all these different weight classes. So what happened after the Jake [Shields]. I took the fight at like 170, I was so mad, I was like, “I’m going to fight Garry.” And then I didn’t realize I had ADCC fight after, which is 88 kilos, which is 194. So my coaches are saying I got to put weight on, you know, that’s the biggest tournament of the year. And then Garry wont even budge and go to 180 for me to go down. He’s just being a pussy. He talks this whole thing like, “I’ll fight anybody anyway,” and then he’s not fighting me at 180 when he’s fought Vinny Magalhaes and he’s beaten Vinny Magalhaes. It’s like, come on, I’ll fight anybody. I’ll fight him in the fucking street. I don’t give a shit.

Though acknowledging that Garry has beaten him, Dillon Danis also went so far as to claim that no one cares about Garry anymore:

ADCC’s way bigger than Garry. I’m helping him out if anything. I know he has beaten me, but at the end of the day, no one really cares about him anymore.

Garry and Dillon are set to lock horns at Polaris 5, which will go down live on UFC Fight Pass on August 19.

Dillon, however, is having doubts about whether or not the fight will go down:

Definitely, it’s not happening. Me and Garry. I don’t think it’s going to happen. He’s all talk.

However, he later went back a bit on his claim, implying that Garry might do it because he’s talking about him.

Fight fans will have to wait and see.

You can watch Dillon Danis’ interview on The MMA Hour below. He starts talking about Renzo Gracie at 3:10:47.
