Double-Champ Amanda Nunes To Defend Featherweight Title Against Felicia Spencer At UFC 250

Bantamweight and featherweight UFC champion Amanda Nunes will be defending her featherweight title for the first time at UFC 250, according to ESPN.

Nunes has earned a reputation as one of the greatest fighters of all time, racking up wins against almost every big-name fighter she’s gone up against, including Ronda Rousey, Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino, Holly Holm, and Miesha Tate. Her finishing rate is also exemplary, with 16 of her 19 wins coming by way of TKO/KO or submission.

Spencer has certainly earned her title shot against Nunes. She made an impressive UFC debut by submitting Megan Anderson after an undefeated Invicta career, and her only loss in her professional MMA career so far has been to Cyborg. Nunes is widely regarded as the GOAT for a reason, though, and even an athlete of Spencer’s caliber can’t afford to make any mistakes if she wants to claim the featherweight championship title for herself.

The fight announcement is the second piece of big news in Nunes’ life over the past couple of days. She and fiancee Nina Ansaroff, a fellow UFC featherweight fighter, are expecting a child together. Ansaroff had previously announced that she was taking the year away from fighting to try to get pregnant; she has stated that she will return to fighting after the baby is born.
