F2W 180: Rafael Lovato Jr. Returns For Main Event Against Gabriel Arges

Fight 2 Win is back in Los Angeles for F2W 180 with a main card that’s guaranteed to satisfy spectators who are hungry for high-level jiu-jitsu.

The main event of F2W 180 will see Rafael Lovato Jr. coming back for yet another headliner, this time against Gabriel Arges. Lovato, of course, is a F2W regular, most recently coming away from F2W 177 with the Masters heavyweight gi title. Prior to that, he followed up another win at F2W 166 with a gold medal finish at the Oklahoma Open.

Arges, an ADCC 2019 veteran, will make his 2021 competitive debut against Lovato. His last match was also on the Fight 2 Win stage, having defeated Mario Andre by referee decision at F2W 151 last year.

The co-main event of the evening will feature a match between Edwin Najmi and Johnny Tama. Najmi is on a two-match winning streak for the promotion, though this will be his first time competing for F2W in 2021. After an intense match against Kody Steele at 3CG 5, Najmi put himself back in the win column with a victory in the co-main event of SUG 25. He’ll be hoping to turn that into a streak tonight, but he won’t have an easy time of it against Tama. Tama’s most recent appearance for the promotion resulted in a split-decision win against Sam Nagai at F2W 159. More recently, he took home his second silver medal at No-Gi Pans. With Tama being a 2019 No-Gi World Champion and Najmi being a 2016 Pans Champion, there’s no doubt that this will be a can’t-miss match.

These won’t be the only big names to watch on the main card. Prior to the co-main event, Gabriel Almeida will be making a quick return after a win at F2W 179 to challenge Xavier Silva in another exciting matchup. Matheus Luna will be returning after ten F2W events as well, this time facing off against Yago De Souza. Before that, multiple-time No-Gi World Champion Baret Yoshida will take on Jeff Nolasco.

The rest of the card won’t disappoint, either; F2W has once again met the jiu-jitsu community’s high expectations with a number of local stars of all levels and affiliations taking the stage throughout the night to wow family, friends, and future fans.

F2W 180 will take place tonight and can be streamed live on FloGrappling.
