F2W 183: Baret Yoshida, Josh Hinger, & More Help Stack Epic Card

By now, we’re used to seeing Fight 2 Win put on some truly epic cards. But tonight’s F2W 183 is impressive even by their standards.

The San Diego event is absolutely stacked with some of the best competitors in jiu-jitsu, from established legends to elite members of the younger generation alike. And capping off the night in the main event will be none other than Baret Yoshida.

Yoshida will be taking on Bernardo Pitel in a match that will see two former world champions face off. Yoshida has won No-Gi Worlds multiple times (most recently in 2018 in the Master 3 division), and recently, he’s been focusing his efforts on F2W matches. Indeed, his four most recent competitive appearances have been for F2W, and he’s gone 2-2 in those efforts; both wins came via crucifix choke. Pitel, who won Worlds in 2001, recently made a big splash at F2W 177, where he defeated Carlos Catala with a choke during a fast-paced, highly entertaining match toward the end of the evening.

In the co-main event of the evening, newly crowned welterweight gi champion Jackson Nagai will face off against Michael Liera Jr. Nagai faced off against Edwin Najmi at F2W 182 to claim the title, then went on to claim bronze at Pans last weekend. Liera, a 2018 Pans champion himself, last competed for the promotion at F2W 152, where he took a loss against Najmi. Liera has fought (and won) against some seriously high-caliber opponents on the stage, though, including Marcio Andre and Jaime Canuto. He and Nagai are a great match for each other, and this is a worthy battle for the co-main event slot.

Prior to Nagai vs. Liera, we’ll get to see multiple-time No-Gi World Champion Josh Hinger take on Corey Guitard. Also on the main card are matches featuring Dom Bell vs. Gabriel Almeida, 2021 Pans double-gold winner Fellipe Andrew vs. Fellipe Trovo, and Lucas Pinheiro vs. Carlos Oliveira.

The card is peppered with many more talented competitors, so make sure your schedule is cleared to see some of the best grappling that San Diego (and beyond) has to offer.

F2W 183 takes place tonight and can be watched live on FloGrappling.
