Florida Jiu-Jitsu Instructor Arrested, Charged With Molesting Two Teenage Students


A jiu-jitsu instructor in Davie, Florida was arrested earlier today on charges of lewd and lascivious molestation against one thirteen-year-old and one fifteen-year-old girl, according to WSVN 7 News Miami.

The suspect, 34-year-old Joao Da Silva, is a coach and owner of RAIVA Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, according to his Facebook page. Photos from the academy’s website show him wearing a purple belt. The victims were students who claimed that Da Silva touched their breasts under their bras during class.

Da Silva is also involved in a separate case involving a seventeen-year-old girl in Hollywood, Florida. However, the exact details are currently unknown, and the case is pending.

  1. jiu jitsu is about contact. If those girls don’t want to be touched, they shouldn’t be doing this type of martial arts.
